Out of the 17 dish updates released so far, only 2 were spicy and they were of the same dish (Spicy Diced Chicken and Spicy Diced Chicken over Rice). Therefore, this week’s update is a spicy dish, a very spicy dish. In fact, in most menus you’ll find three red hot chili peppers next to it. It’s a nice addition not only to the Spicy category of FOODragon, but also to the Beef and Boiled categories which naturally contain less dishes than the Fried and Pork categories.
The beef itself less spicy than one might expect it to be. The cabbage however, is a different story as it really soaks up the combination of peppers, garlic and onions. Since the broth isn’t exactly what you call a clear liquid, after a while it becomes a game of find the beef.
Like many other spicy dishes, this dish is originally from Sichuan Province. It comes in deceivingly frightening big bowl, but the amount of substantial food in it is quite low (prepare yourself for some chopsticks beef fishing).
